Arcade Fire "The Suburbs"

Lesson description: The chorus of this song slays. The sublime combination of lyric, delivery, production, and arrangement. And when I really really love a song, the best way I know how to express that is to "Haugen" it.

Here's the process:

1. I figure out the chord structure and groove.
2. Then, separately, I trace out the melody.
3. Finally, with pencil and paper, I see how I can get the groove, harmony, and melody to interact on my fretboard. I don't use anything fancy, just simple CAGED chord voicings and pentatonic scales. It's usually all I need to say what I need to say!
