Like all things Gillian Welch/Dave Rawlings, it's deceiving in its simplicity. On the surface, it's a beautiful, mournful, Neil Young-esque thing. But once you start working on it, you discover genius modal shifts, major/minor ambiguity, and clever syncopations that are uniquely their own.
