Dreamy Fills on Drive-By Truckers' "Danko/Manuel"

Lesson description: The Drive-By Truckers have an expansive and impressive body of work. If I had to choose only one album by them, it'd be "The Dirty South." It's got some of the best songwriting by all the members, and a great balance to it.

Jason Isbell's "Danko/Manuel" comes on during the 2nd half of the record, and it's a welcome change of pace with a hypnotic, meditative feel to it.

I started out this arrangement thinking I'd Hendrixify it, as I often do. However, the structure and melody lent itself more to Frisell-ian, floaty open string fills. Vibey!
