Track Your Flat 5s & 9s With This Setzer-Style Run

Lesson description: As guitarists, we are eternally tempted to learn more and more scales until our brain is a tangled web of fretboard maps and dots, and we're completely overwhelmed. This lesson is all about using comfortable pentatonic shapes that we know well, and adding some choice "color" tones--the sinister flat 5 and the contemplative 9.

The benefit is twofold:

  1. It's much easier to build on concepts we already know, rather than build a whole new system.
  2. When we know exactly what notes do, how they feel, and where they are, we play in a much more intentional and musical way.
