A Pathway to Understanding Open D Tuning

Lesson description: Open D is easily my favorite alternate tuning--it can do the swampy bluesy stuff, but also, once you get comfortable with it, you can do just about anything else rootsy/soundscapey/Nick Drake-y.

This lesson is more about just giving you a way to approach this open tuning that gets you acquainted as quickly as possible. Side bonus: the ideas here translate very well to other open tunings as well. Basically, it's a good idea to find your I, IV, and V chords, and your major and minor pentatonic scales. That's a good start!
