George Harrison Pre-Bends, Hammers, and Slides on "Cry Baby Cry"

Lesson description: There's so much about George Harrison's playing choices that is unique to him. In this lesson, I take aim at some of his lead work--specifically his use of pre-bends, hammer-ons, and slides.

One of the coolest phrasing tricks I hear him do is what I call "The Pre-Bend/Pre-Bend," where as one bend falls he immediately jumps to a new pre-bent tone. There's also frilly hammer-ons, unusual melodic leaps, and a general freedom from typical blues bending. Working on this stuff is a great way to get out of our usual pentatonic box!
