A Mark Knopfler Take on John Lennon's "Jealous Guy"

Lesson description: I love Dire Straits. I love John Lennon. Put the two together, and voilà. Here's the most interesting thing--Knopfler's approach is partially rooted in classic Hendrix and R&B, with some Chet Atkins and James Burton twang thrown in. I love all those players, so making a Mark Knopfler-style arrangement came together easier than I thought!

The main thing is the use of your fingers on a strat, and the in-between pickup setting, which yields the most Knopfler-ian "quack."

If you don't already own a strat, allow me to be your gear purchase enabler--go buy one! You only live once!
